Wu Qiong

Qiong Wu is piano faculty at the Central Conservatory of Music. Born in a music family, she started to play the piano under the direction of her mother at the age of 4. She was educated at the Shenyang Conservatory of Music and the Central Conservatory of Music where she studied with Prof. Xie Huazhen and Prof. Deng Jifang. In 2009, she obtained her masters degree with distinction at the CCOM. Qiong Wu is an active chamber musician and has worked with many prominent musicians. She plays with natural flair and can master almost every genre. Her wide-range of repertoire include baroque, classical, romantic and modern works.

She was appointed as official pianist to many major competitions and music festivals, such as the Menuhin International Violin Competition, The Central Television “CCTV” piano violin Competition, The Chengdu International Violin Competition, The 10th National Youth Violin Competition and The International Young Artists Competition in Russia where she was awarded the best accompanist.

She also served as a jury member in the CCOM national competition piano division. Qiong Wu also published the book “The Encyclopedia of Piano Art” as the second author.
