Xie Nan
China's outstanding young violinist. Born into a musical family, started learning the violin at the age of four and studied under Professor Zhu Xiongzhen, Professor Huang Xiaozhi, Professor Lin Yaoji and Professor Alice Schoenfeld.
She received master's degree with honor, and is a teacher at the Central Conservatory of Music. Over the years, Xie Nan has made some outstanding achievements, receiving recognition and awards by the Ministry of Culture of the People's Republic of China.
Xie Nan was personally instructed by Isaac Stern, S. Accord and Pinchas Zukerman and highly praised by the masters. In 1999, she successfully recorded “KREUTZER - 42 Etudes” published by the Great Violin Master Heifetz. It became the world's first recording of the work by a violinist. Her recording of the violin solo album MEMORY was released at home and abroad by the General Art Records. She also appeared regularly on the national television station to broadcast both at home and internationally.
Xie Nan has visited the UK, Germany, Austria, Poland, North Korea, Russia, Japan, the United States, South Africa, South Korea, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and other countries and regions, and successfully held solo concerts, been active in the local music scene and has been welcome and highly praised by the audience.
She was invited to the Beijing International Music Festival, Macao Art Festival, 2003 of Japan's Asian Symphonic Music Festival and the 2005 Asian Culture Minister Forum Concert as a violin solo, and invited to perform with China Philharmonic Orchestra, China Symphony Orchestra, the Central Opera Orchestra, China Youth Symphony Orchestra, Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, Beijing Symphony Orchestra, Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra and the Pan Asia Symphony Orchestra, Taiwan Symphony Orchestra, Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra, Macao Chamber Orchestra (now the Macao Philharmonic), Seoul Chamber Orchestra, Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, National Orchestra and numerous domestic and foreign orchestras, as a soloist, where she received great reviews and a warm response.
She appeared in the South Africa show known as "A Shining Star" in the spring of 2002, in Vienna's famous Golden Hall Premiere of the Violin Concerto “Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai” and was a huge success. The show was later published by the China Record Corp and released as a full show on DVD. In January 2006 she was invited by the Hong Kong Orchestra to perform the Chinese version of "Butterfly Lovers", which caused a great sensation.
