Xu Minjia
Chinese violinist Xu Minjia is a frequent prize winner, recent accomplishments include the third prize winner at the Chengdu Guangya Invitational Violin Competition, second prize at the Singapore National Piano and Violin Competition in 2013. First prize and the Best Performance of Chinese Works at the Western China Violin Junior Competition, Chengdu in 2002. Second prize at the 6th China National Violin Junior Competition, Xiamen in 2004. She appeared as a soloist with Metropolitan Festival Orchestra，Sichuan Conservatory of Music Philharmonic Orchestra and Sichuan Philharmonic Orchestra. She has worked with esteemed conductors such as Chan Tze Law, Qiyuan Zhu, and Chao Xiao.
Born in 1994, China. Minjia is currently studying with Prof Ayano Ninomiya at New England Conservatory of Music in United States. She received her first violin studied at the age of five. She graduated from Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music in Singapore where she studied under Prof Qian Zhou. Minjia’s first solo recital was held in her hometown Emei in 2008. Followed by her graduation recital in Sichuan Conservatory of Music. Minjia participated many music festivals worldwide include the Heifetz International Institute, Virginia in 2017 Singapore Violin Festival, Singapore in 2016; International Holland Music Sessions, Holland in 2015; Interharmony International Music Festival, Italy in 2014 and Keshet Eilon International Violin and String Mastercourse, Israel in 2013. Where she had master classes with Professor Victor Danchenko, Petru Munteanu, Hyo Kang, Takashi Shimizu, Lee Sung-ju, Krzysztof Wegrzyn, Alexander Trostiansky, Kim Namyun, Shmuel Ashikenasi, Lin Cho-Liang, Dima Tkachenko, Kurt Sassmannshaus, Ani Schnarch, David takeno, Hu Kun, Yuri Gandelsma, Tanja Becker- Bender and Ning Feng.
Minjia plays a 1827 Postacchini, Andrea on generous loan from the Rin Collection.
